Measuring and Enhancing the Ionic Conductivity of Chloroaluminate Electrolytes for Al-Ion Batteries

At the core of aluminum (Al) ion battery is liquid electrolyte, which governs underlying chemistry. Optimizing rheological properties electrolyte critical to advance state art. In present work, chloroaluminate made by reacting AlCl3 with a recently reported acetamidinium chloride (Acet-Cl) salt in an effort make more performant electrolyte. Using AlCl3:Acet-Cl as model we build on our previous established new method for extracting ionic conductivity from fitting voltammetric data, and this contribution, validate across range measurement parameters addition highlighting electrolytes’ relative current liquids.
